Flávia Macuco 

Executive-director and co-founder of The55project

Flávia Macuco is the executive-director and co-founder of The55project—a non-profit with the mission to promote Brazilian visual artists and cultural projects in the United States. She began her career at a marketing agency, working closely with art projects sponsored by “Lei Rouanet," a law that provides monetary funds for large cultural projects in Brazil.

Her most recent curatorial projects include Ser, Habitar e Imaginar (2018), the artist Ivan Grilo’s solo project Escribe una carta de amor (2018), both co-curated with Adriana Herrera. In 2019 and 2020 Co-Curated an exhibition “What I really want to tell you…” with 14 Brazilian artists in Miami and Chicago.

She is in the Committee of Programs for the Brazilian Chamber of Commerce in Florida and is a member of the International Women’s Committee of Pérez Art Museum Miami. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Law and a certificate from Wharton - Marketing and Sotheby’s Art Business - Art History Program in New York.
